ELECTRICAL DESIGNER Assignment Length - 1+ year assignment. Electrical Designer with 15+ years of experience in electrical design within the chemical industry Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC Codes), NFPA 70E, NFPA 496, NFPA 497 required. Experience in hazardous area classification and be adept at applying electrical equipment, devices, and installation practices for hazardous locations. Will work collaboratively with other departments on projects ranging from small to large scale. Experience troubleshooting, commissioning, as well as checkout and startup support of power and control systems is essential. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2019 or later, BricsCAD, and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is necessary. Experience in 3D modeling related to electrical design, such as cable routing and cable tray routing, is expected. Must have experience with power distribution systems ranging from 480V up to 15kV, including the design of substations, 15kV switchgear, 5kV medium voltage starters/VFDs, and 480V low voltage smart motor control centers. Knowledge of overhead power line distribution, cable tray systems, and underground duct bank design is also important. Experience in electrical heat tracing system design, grounding system design, and lightning protection is required. Should be skilled in lighting design for both commercial and industrial facilities. Familiarity with variable frequency drives from brands such as 19 is necessary. Experience with auxiliary backup diesel power generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and 24VDC systems. The candidate must be capable of designing security systems, camera systems, fire alarm systems, and communication systems. Comfort and capability to perform work in a chemical plant environment are essential. This position may require up to 30% travel.
