The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Data Entry Clerk (MBSCR's) key responsibility is to collect and submit accurate, complete, and timely data to the MBSAQIP Data Registry Platform. This task is accomplished through high-quality data compilation, documentation, and entry of 100 percent of metabolic and bariatric procedures performed at the Center into the MBSAQIP Data Registry Platform.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • MBSCR certified or must obtain certification within 60 days of hire
  • Clerical/Computer experience (Microsoft Office)
  • Knowledge in gathering information in a complex hospital system environment

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time
  • Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Essential Functions:

  • Utilizes necessary systems to review daily alerts, address system errors and requesting system rules to better registration accuracy
  • Data collection and identification of areas for quality improvement requires clinical knowledge and understanding of patient care
  • The MBSCR works closely with the members of the metabolic and bariatric and general surgery departments to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects that may be identified
  • Responsible for following the bariatric patients from their initial visit until the day of their surgery
  • Working collaboratively with surgeon s other office staff for the scheduling of the patient's surgery
  • Obtaining and submitting documents, and all the necessary paperwork for scheduling of surgery
  • Gathering and culminating all required physician/dietary documentation and test results for submission to the insurance company for surgical authorization and obtaining authorization
  • Understanding and providing insurance information to the patient when necessary
  • Entering patient information into the web portal patient tracking data base and/or any other required bariatric patient data bases
  • Responsible for reviewing and communicating this information to the surgeons and program director on a monthly basis or more often if necessary
