The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Patient Access Representative accurately and promptly collects all pertinent information at the initial point of registration to ensure the proper billing process occurs. The Patient Access Representative will see patients on the inpatient floors to review documentation and obtain necessary demographic and insurance information.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED

Preferred:

  • Prior experience with hospital Patient Access/Registration and EPIC
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • N/A

Scheduling Requirements:

Hours 8:30am to 5pm, with rotating weekends. The schedule would typically be as follows:

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday

Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

  • Weekend and Holiday rotation
  • Full Time, 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Utilizing the WOW's (workstation on wheels), will interview patients to obtain demographic and insurance information
  • Accurately register patients into the EPIC system
  • Obtain necessary signatures and resolve demographic and insurance edits
  • Provide patient estimates on potential financial responsibilities and collect payments
