Overview

The Technical Project & Release Manager leads Enterprise IT services planning and execution while overseeing technical coordination across development, testing, operations, and governance groups. This role manages system access and profile management processes, ensures compliance with established Change Control procedures, and drives automation and process improvements across release workflows. The manager is responsible for aligning multiple project teams, maintaining documentation standards, and delivering stable, predictable releases for complex IT environments.



Responsibilities

    Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of the enterprise IT services and execution release lifecycle across multiple applications and environments.
  • Lead technical project management activities including scheduling, risk identification, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee profile management processes, including role provisioning, access updates, workflow approvals, and system documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise Change Control standards, submitting and tracking change requests through ServiceNow or similar platforms.
  • Conduct release readiness meetings, define acceptance criteria, and develop rollback strategies to protect system stability.
  • Drive automation initiatives to streamline release metrics, reporting, and routine operational tasks.
  • Maintain and develop SOPs, release runbooks, and technical documentation for repeatable, compliant release operations.
  • Create visual dashboards and metrics that inform leadership on release volume, timing, risk, and performance.
  • Coordinate cross-team alignment between development, QA, product owners, and operations to ensure smooth releases and issue resolution.
  • Manage and modernize documentation platforms (e.g., OneNote Confluence), ensuring accuracy, version control, and collaboration.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT release management, technical project management, or related technical operations roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proficient in technical project management: scheduling, risk identification, dependency mapping, and cross-team coordination.
  • Expertise in profile and access management, including role provisioning, workflow approvals, and audit compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Pega Cloud, and other enterprise workflow and documentation platforms.
  • Skilled in automation of operational tasks, release data collection, reporting, and deployment processes using scripts, Puppet, and other tools.
  • Strong understanding of Change Control processes, SOP creation, and compliance standards within regulated environments.
  • Ability to create and maintain runbooks, release documentation, technical procedures, and knowledge bases for repeatable, standardized processes.
  • Continuous professional development in automation, workflow management, and enterprise release practices.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage large volumes of deployments.
  • Experience automating reporting, data collection, or deployment workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially in technical documentation and stakeholder coordination.
  • PMP certification preferred.
