Department:Planning and Development Department Organizational Unit:Land Development Code Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. $22.84 to $25.12 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs experienced paraprofessional work interfacing with petitioners, processing permit applications, furnishing information, and managing associated records. Work may include issuing permits and providing supervision to clerical staff. REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of progressively responsible office experience, which includes one (1) year in building, permitting, planning, zoning, or a closely related field OR two (2) years of experience as any level Brevard County Customer Service Representative. Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment, an active Florida Notary Public certification and maintain said certification during the term of employment. Must successfully complete, within nine (9) months of employment, all of the classes for the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
