Primary Purpose of Department
The mission of the Athletic Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is to operate within the perspective of the overall educational programs. With a balanced program that supports equitable opportunities for all students and staff, the department promotes a total person concept that provides its student-athletes with the necessary tools to be successful in academic, athletic and social settings. The Department of Athletic supports the highest ethical standards of the University, the NCAA and Conference Affiliation.
Primary Purpose of Position
Provide an environment where student athletes can succeed both academically and athletically.
Summary of Position Responsibilities

  • Coach, instruct, and prepare student athletes to be competitive within the affiliated conference with the ultimate goal of making NCAA postseason play.
  • Follow NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Academics - monitor student-athletes' academic progress in conjunction with the AAC staff.
  • Recruit prospective student-athletes who are admissible to UNC Charlotte.

Minimum Education/Experience
Undergraduate degree and previous playing/coaching experience. (Bachelor's in Exercise Science)
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Coaching experience at the Division I collegiate level.
Necessary Certifications/Licenses
NSCA- CSCS, CPR and AED
Preferred Certifications/Licenses
USAW
