Concrete Foreman - COF1225
Sanders Brothers is seeking an experienced Concrete Foreman to join our team. The Concrete foremen will be responsible for managing a/multiple crew leaders and subordinates to perform assigned tasks. This will require having all required material, equipment, and knowledge/ability to perform predetermined tasks to required completion characteristics.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Follow direction of superintendents and concrete area management.
- Provide labor support involving all aspects of prepping, preparing, finishing, and cleanup of concrete related task.
- Use of various hand tools including shovel, rake, sledge hammer, or other tools used to move materials, drive pins, place and finish concrete.
- Responsibility to reach job sites where directed by supervisor.
- Ability to foresee issues before problem arises.
- Has knowledge/capability to build form work needed as well as bracing.
- Knowledge/Ability to tie rebar.
- Has knowledge/capability to form, pour, and finish various applications including, not limited to: curb, throats, sidewalk, curb machine string line, storm drain boxes, and slabs on grade.
- Responsible for maintaining hand tools, equipment, work trucks, and form work.
- Responsible for company work site to be clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns.
- Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Knowledge in mixing concrete, laying brick work, setting tops, and building storm drain boxes.
- Ability to anticipate concrete needs such as time of pour, admixtures, and yardage needed.
- Responsible for completing task required to specifications, standards, and free from error.
- Ability to produce daily logs in company used software (Track) with crew's time, tasks, production, and quantify materials delivered on site.
- Coordinates and communicates trucking resource needs with trucking management.
- Perform any other general duties as specified.
- Ability to account for daily job site actions.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Ability to train others and preform task involving assigned job description and all subordinate levels.
- Read and understand blue prints using an engineer's scale.
- Able to calculate slope & grade and set finish grade according to plan from surveyed offsets, bench marks, or whatever is available.
- Personnel Management through effective communication.
- Must be able to calculate quantities/yield for all job site materials.
- Capable of interpreting and gather information from specifications, plan views, and details involved with various types of construction plans. Including, not limited to commercial, DOT, and residential.
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment
- Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
- Ability to lift 100lbs with assistance.
- Ability to regularly lift 80 pounds individually.
- Must have the ability to stand, kneel, and bend over for long periods of time.
- Flexible availability to include overtime, weekends, and nights.
- Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all employees, customers, supervisors and inspectors.
- Hold valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record by complying with standards established by SBCC policy.
- Experience in operating earth moving equipment.
- Proficient meeting grade and slope requirements per specifications.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in coloring, stamping, and slick finishing concrete
- Ability to run trial machine and various types of screeds.
- Experience in operating curb machine.
