Concrete Superintendent - CS1225
Sanders Brothers is seeking a Concrete Superintendent. The Concrete Superintendent will be responsible for operating heavy earth moving equipment, forming and pouring various applications of concrete used on construction projects as well as managing all field personnel in the concrete area.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Operates types of heavy equipment required to perform tasks.
- Has knowledge/capability to form, pour, and finish various applications including, not limited to: curb, throats, sidewalk, curb machine pours, storm drain boxes, and slabs on grade.
- Required to perform job requirements with no supervision and effectively
- General housekeeping and maintenance checks of equipment including reporting usage/utilization hours on a daily basis or as directed by supervisor.
- Ability to produce and approve daily logs in company used software (Track) with crew's time, tasks, production, and quantify materials delivered on site.
- The use of a shovel to move material will be necessary.
- Coordinates and communicates trucking resource needs with trucking management.
- Responsible for company work site clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns.
- Comply with all SBCC policies, procedures and safety requirements.
- Perform any other general duties as specified.
- Ability to understand and adjust methods to meet budget and schedule requirements provided for him.
- Ability to create and complete punch lists required to complete job.
- Responsible for meeting/exceeding equipment utilization goals
- Ability to anticipate concrete needs such as time of pour, admixtures, and yardage needed for all crews.
- Has knowledge/capability to build form work needed as well as bracing.
- Responsible for meeting daily performance and work quotas
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
- Proficient meeting grade and slope requirements per specifications.
- Must meet SBCC's employment standards with regards to background checks.
- Must have the ability to stand, kneel, and bend over for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 100lbs with assistance.
- Ability to regularly lift 80 pounds individually.
- Flexible availability to include work hours needed to meet schedule; including nights, and weekends.
- Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures. Employees may be exposed to dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.
- Personnel Management through effective communication.
- Ability to effective communicates with all types of individuals involved in construction projects.
- Ability to develop coworkers/subordinates of all levels encompassed in the concrete area of SBC.
- Ability to perform duties of all subordinate levels in the concrete area.
- Capable of interpreting and gather information from specifications, plan views, and details involved with various types of construction plans. Including, not limited to commercial, DOT, and residential.
- Ability to use an engineer's scale effectively.
- Ability to design/set grades to accomplish goals.
- Ability to account for daily job site actions.
- Understanding of all areas involved in projects, i.e. utilities, asphalt, surveying, concrete, and etc. with the capability for quality control and scheduling.
- Has authority to direct all field personnel onsite, however, must contact area managers involved before directing effected crews.
- Ensures daily time, field quantities, and production are entered into Track.
- Ensures project is constructed at highest quality and free from error.
- Ability to manage subcontractors.
- Must be able to calculate quantities/yield for all job site materials.
- Read and interpret a project schedule.
- Demonstrates a proactive standard in regards to management of project, personnel, and equipment.
- Must have a Valid Driver's License and provide 3-year motor vehicle record which meets the minimum operating standards in accordance with SBCC vehicle operation policy.
Preferred Skill
- Experience in coloring, stamping, and slick finishing concrete
- Ability to run trowel machine and various types of screeds.
- Experience in operating curb machine.
- Experience with Leica LPS curb machine control systems
