Summary


  • Operates through-hole or surface mount technology (SMT) automatic assembly equipment to produce high quality complex printed circuit board assemblies.
  • Responsible for set-up, operations and routine maintenance. Manually or using semi-automatic equipment screen print solder paste.
  • Operate adhesive dispensing equipment.
  • Loads components supplied in tubes or reels onto feeders, and loads feeders onto placement equipment. May hand place some SMT components.
  • Place assembled printed circuit boards into solder reflow ovens. May use standard electronic hand tools (solder, flux and adhesive). Utilize schematic diagrams, drawings, visual aides and other instructions to identify defects.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick and place equipment, including setup, and operation of equipment, including minor troubleshooting
  • Perform SMT production tasks, including component placement, soldering, and inspection
  • Ensure high-quality production by following established procedures and guidelines
  • Collaborate with production team to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to 5S principles
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and improve efficiency
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment



Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience as an SMT Operator, with a focus on MyCronic or Universal Fuzion pick and place equipment
  • Strong understanding of SMT production processes, including component placement, soldering, and inspection
  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and guidelines
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or certification in a related field preferred
