Psychiatric Emergency Clinician Supervisor

Inova Fairfax Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Clinician Supervisor to join the Psych Observation EMPATH Unit. This role is full-time Day Shift (40 hrs/week) Monday-Fri 8:30-5:00pm

Psychiatric Emergency Clinician Supervisor- Job Responsibilities:

• The Psych Emergency Clinician Supervisor provides direct/indirect clinical supervision to central access clinicians to enhance their individual clinical skills and the quality of services to patients.
• Develops goals and managing fiscal activities of the department.
• Responsible for oversight of daily operations related to clinical evaluations and administrative functions, procedures and protocols.
• Supervises administrative operations including scheduling/registration, and direct patient care.
• Works collaboratively with physicians, therapists and other team members of the behavioral health team to effect timely, appropriate patient care management.
• Collaborates with other department leaders, providers and team members with in Inova, and external agencies to help support the care and disposition of patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health-related field. Experience: 5 years of experience, 3 of which are post-licensure, working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill.

  • Basic Life Support required within 3months of hire
  • Vistelar de-escalation certifications required within 6 Months of hire
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor Certification within 3 Months
  
  
• License: one of the following required upon start:
  
  
  
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC),
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),
  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP),
  • Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years supervisory experience.
• experience in the ED and/or Emergency Services/CSB
