Summary
Organizes project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, developing project schedules, and determines resource requirements. Monitors and reports on the status of projects including cost, timing, and staffing. Ensures adherence to internal and external quality standards. Roles include those responsible for general project/program management, in which work requires only general knowledge of the project/business requirements, and no specific technical knowledge. Also includes roles responsible for technical project/program activities, in which the NYPA employee has some foundational knowledge in the specific area to advise on scope changes, and other more technical aspects. The Transmission Project Manager role will include, not limited to, responsibilities to ensure that all technical data is obtained to work with our Asset Management, Project Management, and Procurement groups to facilitate the ordering of critical spare parts commercially required for the current and future SENY Transmission asset base. The elements within the purview of the asset base will include cable systems, cable terminations, splicing accessories, oil-filled equipment, and any critical spare substation assets for GIS or AIS. The candidate will work to develop plans to review any current spare inventory part gaps based on current and future commercial legal agreements. Additionally, the candidate would be involved in technical discussions regarding any testing requirements for any current and/or future equipment within the SENY Transmission Asset base related to NYPA's Vision 2030.
