Summary

As Weisiger Group approaches its 100th anniversary in 2026, we are pleased to represent industry leading brands of Caterpillar, Hyster & Yale, SITECH, and others. We are seeking an impactful and driven Director, Talent Development, who will play a pivotal role in shaping the talent programs to support the growth and success of our organization.

Reporting to the SVP of HR, this role will lead the Talent Development team and be a strategic partner to division business leaders and HR directors while also being comfortable working directly with managers and employees. Taking a hands-on, process driven approach, they must have a desire to learn our business and use those learnings to grow our existing Talent Capability, Leadership Development, Organizational Learning and Employee Experience strategies/programs.

As a trusted leader, coach, and expert in organizational development, you will lead, develop, manage, and support strategies and programs designed to grow our people and create a top-notch employee experience. You will impact the employee lifecycle including talent development, organizational learning, succession planning, performance management and employee engagement. The keys to success in this role include leveraging a data driven enterprise mindset to develop and execute solutions to complex talent capability challenges, demonstrating strong stakeholder management, and inspiring your team to greatness.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the talent development team in creating and maintaining a comprehensive talent development strategy and programmatic approach to support the business growth and professional development of employees.
  • Partner collaboratively with Business Leaders, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition and HR Operations to design and implement enterprise-wide talent development solutions in alignment with strategic business plans and overall talent needs.
  • Regularly assess and update our organizational learning strategies to ensure that our programs align with company objectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Design, plan, implement and manage the end-to-end performance and talent review processes ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee the enterprise approach to Individual Development Plans (IDPs). Ensure that these plans provide tangible value and effectively support employee development.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of our talent programs; Identify success measures, track, analyze and interpret outcomes.
  • Enable division and function leaders to drive high performance through organizational assessments, learning solutions, performance management, engagement, culture, career planning, succession planning and internal mobility programs.
  • Own the oversight, evaluation, and optimization of our LMS and performance management systems.
  • Expand training through design and delivery of high-quality learning solutions that address functional, sales, and leadership training and development needs in the business.
  • Provide direction and guidance for design and implementation of a comprehensive competency framework to determine, assess, and develop performance effectiveness.
  • Provide group and one-on-one coaching with leaders and employees to support leadership development, business decision-making, change management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has supervisory responsibilities for the Talent Development team. The Director, Talent Development will lead, manage, train, and develop a team of high-performing talent development professionals.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Four-year college degree or equivalent experience; Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in the talent management and learning and development space with a strong focus in organizational development.
  • Extensive experience in program design and implementation.
  • Experience, managing, developing, and leveraging Succession Planning and Performance Management programs to enhance employee growth and performance.
  • Experience developing and delivering leadership, management and technical training workshops and programs.
  • A collaborative and consultative approach to implementing and improving talent programs and processes to support the business. High degree of ownership and is results oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability translating business requirements to create actionable strategies, practical approaches, and offerings to drive development objectives across multiple businesses and locations.
  • Possess strong business acumen and organizational awareness.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to create a story using data and research to influence and drive decision making.
  • Exceptional skills and experience with program design, and project and program management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships at the C-level and drive cross functional alignment to move decisions forward.
  • Adept at handling competing priorities and responsibilities in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership capabilities
  • Experience with performance management systems (UKG, SAP, Workday)
  • Certification in talent management or executive coaching (SHRM- SCP, ICF) is a plus
  • Willing to travel 15% of the time.

The noise level in some work environments is occasionally loud.
