Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced CT data analysis using VGStudio MAX for porosity/inclusion evaluation, wall thickness measurements, dimensional inspection, and visualization.
  • Establish best practices and standards for CAD-to-scan alignment, and automated inspection macros in VGStudio MAX.
  • Collaborate with design engineering and metrology to resolve product variation issues, define tolerances, and support root cause analysis.
  • Develop and implement standardized workflows for CT data processing across Howmet sites, including correlation and Gage R&R studies.
  • Provides technical support to engineers, and other departments to support tooling development and process improvements.
  • Support qualification of new CT systems, materials, and methods through scan strategy optimization and digital simulation analysis.
  • Write and maintain CT-specific inspection protocols, operating procedures, and data review methods aligned with customer standards.
  • Mentor CT technicians and analysts to elevate technical capability and ensure consistency of digital inspection practices.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, or similar) from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in dimensional metrology, NDT, or quality engineering using industrial CT.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient with Volume Graphics VGStudio MAX for dimensional analysis, CAD alignment, and defect reporting.
  • Experience supporting CT workflows in aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with VGSL scripting, automated macros, or integration with PLM systems.
  • Working knowledge of DR, RT, or other NDT techniques and how they interface with CAD and inspection standards.
  • Proficiency in Gage R&R, SPC, and digital quality documentation (FAI, AS9102, PPAP).
  • Strong collaboration skills with NDT personnel, engineering, and customers.
  • Experience in designing tooling to support a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly detailed and organized.
