The Position

As the Supervisor, Manufacturing you will be a hands-on front-line people leader, accountable for leading and developing teams in support of a fast-paced operation. You will deliver diagnostic products and ensure continuous quality, schedule adherence, and efficient production.

You will be a member of the Operations Extended Leadership Team (eLT), interfacing with other eLT members to deliver on goals and collaborate to drive business strategy. You will operate in accordance with internal and external quality and safety requirements, and you will work with area leadership to evaluate production process data. You will drive continuous improvement cross-functionally to achieve operational KPIs.

The Opportunity

People Leadership/Development

  • You will lead and empower direct reports and teams by providing coaching, training, development opportunities, and timely feedback on performance.

  • You will maintain visibility and presence in the manufacturing area, ensuring team members operate within corporate policies.

  • You will manage time, attendance, and staffing while conducting workforce planning to meet current and future production demands.

  • You will coordinate with process leads for resource management and optimization.

  • You will hire, onboard, and train new team members to strengthen the team.

  • You will apply Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, and Coaching (VACC) principles to drive team leadership and development.

  • Foster an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth

Production

  • You will maintain a thorough understanding of end-to-end production processes and ensure factory adherence.

  • Identify scheduling conflicts, production issues, and equipment maintenance needs, collaborating with support functions for resolution.

  • Participate as a stakeholder in project-based activities such as new product transfers, inventory reduction, and scale-ups to support departmental and company goals.

  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals, aligning deliverables for shifts and processes.

  • You will report daily production metrics and track progress toward goals.

  • Address misses to goals by implementing corrective actions to improve performance.

Safety and Quality

  • You will operate with a safety and quality mindset, addressing and escalating potentially unsafe hazards while reporting and investigating incidents and near misses promptly.

  • Ensure the production area maintains its right to operate, participating in internal and external quality and safety audits.

  • You will ensure all area personnel maintain training compliance and adhere to established standards.

  • Maintain current process information and documentation in line with internal and external guidelines.

  • You will lead quality failure investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and collaborate with departments on corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

  • You will create a lean culture by empowering the workforce to provide and implement ideas that drive continuous improvement and reduce waste.

  • Act as a change agent by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and actively utilizing lean manufacturing tools in team activities.

  • You will own accountability for the manufacturing area's continuous improvement and lean initiatives.

  • Prepare presentations and reports to support and implement process improvements.

  • Collect and evaluate data and metrics (e.g., safety, quality, cost, delivery, people) to monitor and support Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

  • Utilize metrics to recommend manufacturing initiatives and improvement projects.

  • Host, facilitate, and lead continuous improvement activities to achieve measurable outcomes.

Teamwork and Collaboration

  • You will proactively collaborate with peers across shifts and functions to ensure alignment and effective operations.
  • Collaborate with support functions to drive value stream improvements, lean manufacturing, and global projects/initiatives.

  • Facilitate and participate in tier and staff meetings to communicate priorities and track progress.

  • You will manage staff by providing coaching, training, skill development opportunities, and ongoing constructive feedback on performance.

  • Support teams in achieving goals and meeting expectations through clear communication and leadership.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support departmental and organizational objectives.

Who You Are
  • You have a Bachelor's Degree, Are equivalencies acceptable? No

  • You have 4 years Relevant experience in production, manufacturing, supply chain or related field. And 2 years Processes, people, or project leader experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, and influence high-performing teams across all levels of staff and management.

  • Strong team leadership abilities aligned with VACC principles, with proven experience in process improvement and data-driven decision-making.

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a proactive, can-do attitude.

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication, presentation skills, and effective collaboration across functions and organizational levels.

  • Experience working in regulated environments with strong situational assessment and decision-making abilities.

  • Proficiency with electronic manufacturing systems such as SAP, as well as Google products (gMail, gSheets, gDocs, gSlides, etc.).

  • Basic understanding of financial concepts, metrics, and budget planning to support operational goals.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is 73,600.00 - 136,600.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
