Summary: This individual will own the data and technical integration roadmap, serve as the technical lead across vendors, and act as the primary architect and operational owner ensuring the platform is technically cohesive, scalable, and aligns with industry standards. While much of the engineering will be executed by vendors, this role requires deep technical expertise and literacy and will have technical oversight of vendor resources to ensure correct execution, integration, and data quality.

This exempt position will report to the Associate Vice President, Data Strategy in the Division of Executive Services. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $132,000 - $165,000 (commensurate with related experience).

Responsibilities:



  • Own and maintain the technical roadmap for platform integration across ingestion, transformation, identity resolution, and interoperability layers.

  • Oversee day-to-day technical coordination with multiple vendor partners responsible for platform components.

  • Integrate and validate vendor-built solutions, ensure alignment with enterprise standards and quality benchmarks.

  • Inform and co-design the ACS data warehouse and broader data architecture strategy (likely Azure-based).

  • Lead and contribute to evaluations of data pipeline tooling and transformation layers, offering informed recommendations to help guide strategic decisions.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on healthcare data models, interoperability frameworks, and system configuration.

  • Ensure seamless and secure integration of all platform components.

  • Lead the operational handoff and monitoring of vendor-built pipelines and services.

  • Serve as the technical point of contact for vendors, internal product teams, and clinical stakeholders.

  • Drive delivery timelines technical checkpoints and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Collaborate closely with internal engineering and data science teams.



Required Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • At least 7+ years of experience in systems integration, data platform implementation, and enterprise data architecture.

  • Strong working knowledge and experience in healthcare interoperability standards, biomedical terminologies and ontologies, and common data models (e.g., HL7, FHIR, CCD, OMOP, SNOMED CT, RxNorm, LOINC, USCDI).

  • EHR data integration experience (Epic, Cerner).

  • Demonstrated leadership in managing platform integration across multi-vendor environment.

  • Hands-on experience evaluating pipeline tools and implementing cloud-native data architectures.

  • Strong expertise in data governance and quality assurance frameworks including validation protocols.

  • Proven ability to work independently, drive technical delivery, and manage cross-functional coordination.



Preferred Experience:



  • Familiarity with privacy-preserving linkage techniques and metadata-driven frameworks.

  • Background in modular, standards-based clinical data architecture.

  • Exposure to clinical analytics platforms or healthcare-focused data and analytics products.

  • TOGAF Certification, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or equivalent experience.
