Position Overview

This is the security specialist position in the Ft. Belvoir 300 compound Visitor Center. In this position you will work with other security specialist(s) and a Team Lead. This individual will process incoming and outgoing visitor requests, greet and process all daily visitors ensuring to issue the appropriate level of temporary visitor identification badges to authorized visitors at a minimum. Additional job responsibilities are detailed below. There will be training provided to ensure this individual can meet the required responsibilities.



Responsibilities

In this role your primary duties are comprised of, but not be limited to the following support:

    Conducting daily inventories prior to the start of and at the conclusion of operating hours each day
  • Process all incoming and outgoing visitor requests
  • Issue, maintain, distribute, and track all Visitor Log authorized visitors into the visitor control systems.
  • Process classified visit requests via the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) for personnel attending classified meetings.
  • Process all Carpool passes as directed by the government
  • Provide general security support for classified meetings as needed
  • Greet and process all daily visitors ensuring to issue the appropriate level of temporary visitor identification badges to authorized visitors.
  • Pre-register future visitors via e-mail or phone
  • Periodically check the locked badge repository box located in the guard force area for badges that must be destroyed and for those that must be returned to the badge custodian, throughout the day. Maintain the plastic sleeves for reuse.
  • Maintain appropriate stock of all office supplies
  • Work with Team Lead on submission for procurement of all materials/equipment needed for the Visitor
  • Ensure that routine maintenance is performed on all government Information Processing
  • Conduct end of day security checks for the visitor
  • Verify all visitor badges are returned
  • Recover missing badges and report lost
  • Assist security personnel as needed during quarterly classified destruction
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor/government
  • Process all RTI/ESI events that require mass group submissions
  • Ensure processed prior to event schedule
  • Ensure support coverage for on/off site - Area 300 compound
  • Review, track, and ensure the positive workflow for Security Classification Guides
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • You are required to be onsite 5 days a week. Core duty hours are as follows: 0545-1430 - Note this includes 45mins for lunch
  • Active DOD Secret Clearance (Interim clearance is permitted)
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Must be reliable
  • Able to get along with and work in a team environment
