| Primary Purpose of Department |
The mission of the Undergraduate Admissions Office is to meet the established University enrollment goals by recruiting and enrolling new undergraduate students. | Primary Purpose of Position |
The Director of Undergraduate Admissions serves as the chief undergraduate admissions officer for the university. The Director provides leadership and oversight for the Undergraduate Admissions team, including admissions operations, the design and implementation of recruitment strategies and data models, and the development of collaborative relationships with academic departments in coordinating admissions efforts. The Director will lead the team to achieve university strategic goals in recruiting, enrolling, and graduating a talented student body that includes first-year, transfer, adult, and international students.
This role requires oversight of all internal and external operations, including recruitment, technology development, project coordination, budget management, and policy to support strategic growth in the freshman and transfer classes. A core function is the continuous assessment of national and regional market trends and demographic data to drive future enrollment.

NACAC policies, and engages as a leader at the national level to position the University at the forefront of enrollment best practices. |
| Summary of Position Responsibilities |
Strategic Enrollment Planning & Data Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive, market-driven undergraduate enrollment strategy to meet multi-year institutional growth and quality objectives for freshman and transfer classes. Ensure the integrity, transparency, and accurate reporting of all admissions data to support university-wide strategic planning and maintain rigorous compliance with state and federal regulations.
Financial and Operational Leadership: Manage and oversee the multi-million dollar operational budget, strategically allocating resources to drive market-based growth and support institutional priorities. Modernize technology infrastructure through policy development to enhance efficiency, and champion a customer-centered approach to ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy across all departmental operations.
Talent Management and Culture Building: Lead and manage the large admissions team (including permanent staff, student workers, and contractors), overseeing the full employee lifecycle-from strategic hiring and performance evaluation to professional development-to ensure alignment with strategic enrollment goals. Design, implement, and annually review comprehensive training programs that foster a high-quality, customer-centered culture of excellence and service across the entire organization.
Stakeholder Engagement and Institutional Partnership: Cultivate and actively manage robust relationships with key internal partners (administrators, faculty, staff) and external stakeholders (secondary schools, families, professional colleagues) to enhance the reputation and effectiveness of the Admissions Office. Lead proactive collaboration across campus units to foster a shared understanding and unified support for student recruitment and enrollment objectives.
Executive Leadership, Market Strategy, and Integrity: Serve as the Chief Admissions Officer, driving the strategic vision and providing executive leadership to exceed annual enrollment goals for all undergraduate classes. Lead market-driven enrollment forecasting, develop specialized access pathways for diverse populations, and ensure alignment of recruitment strategies with institutional academic goals. Maintain comprehensive accountability for admissions integrity, accuracy of decisions, and strict legal compliance with all system, federal, and professional best practices.

| Minimum Education/Experience |
- Master's degree and five years of progressive experience in a successful admissions operation in a four-year college or university setting.
- Significant experience at the Director or Associate Director level with strong supervisory and budget management experience is required.

| Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience |
- Coursework in management, counseling, budgeting, marketing, research, conflict management, public speaking and communications are preferred.
- Strong planning, assessment/analysis, research, and organizational skills are essential.
- Thorough understanding of enrollment planning, including yield analysis and applicant trend data is required. In-depth knowledge of admissions related IT development, marketing/recruitment strategies/trends, and customer relations development is necessary.
