Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Tactical Data Link (TDL) Testing and Certification Program Analyst in support of the Air Force Division. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in Technical Field (such as engineering, computer science, information technology).
- EXPERIENCE LEVEL: At least three (3) years recent staff experience (within the last 10 years).
- At least four (4) years' experience applying prior knowledge of Tactical Data Link Military Standards (MIL-STD 6016, 6017, 3011, 6022).
- OR -
- Associate's Degree in Technical Field (such as engineering, computer science, information technology).
- At least three (3) years recent experience (within past 10 years) to manage/oversee Air Force service-level multi-TDL interoperability and certification tests.
- At least three (3) years recent experience (within past 10 years) reviewing test plans and test reports related to Multi-TDL C&I Certification Testing and staff processes.
- At least three (3) years recent experience (within past 10 years) applying knowledge of Multi-TDL standards (US MIL STD 3011, 6011, 6016, 6017, 6020, 6040, 188-220, and 2045-47001).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support to the USAF Participating Test Unit Coordinator (PTUC) on identifying TDL capabilities and functions that require testing for applicable USAF Command, Control, Communication and Intelligence (C3I) systems
- Advocate and provide relevent information on the USAF Test & Certification process during platform/system design and development phase by attending Technical Interchange Meeting, Test Plan Work Gropu, Integerated Test Team Meeting and/or Design Reviews.
- Liaise with the system under test program office in all phases of Air Force Standards Conformance and Joint interoperability tests as required.
- Observe C&I Certification testing, as required, and ensure any observed problems are documented. Analyze test data collected and observed during C&I test to validate preliminary trouble reports and determine their operational impact.
- Attend Techniocal Action Group (TAG) meetings to provide technical support regarding interpretation of multi-TDL standards, operational procedures, and operational impact of identified problems.
- Participate in Joint test planning and the development and coordination of Interim Certificates to Operate (ICTOs), as requested, when systems need to be fielded before the certification process is complete. Participate in the Interoperability Steering Group (ISG) meetings to support their assigned systems.
- Attend the Joint Analysis Review Panel (JARP) meetings to provide technical support regarding interpretation of multi-TDL standards, operational procedures, and operational impact of identified problems. Assist JARP members in validating the PTRs and determining the applicable category to assign them based on their potential to preclude or degrade an essential mission capability or an operational activity/system function as defined in the system NR KPPs.
- Provide technical TDL expertise to support the development and integration of TDL into Air Force C2 and non-C2 platforms.
- Provide operational solutions for the implementation of TDL products in the Air Force for both the theater and unit-level operations, as well as integration with Joint and allied forces.
- Develop or review previously developed data and message level implementation specifications for specific platforms or services.
- Research and gather information to develop Background Papers, staff studies, Talking Papers, or presentation materials as assigned by the Government.
