Job Description

SUMMARY:

C/NET Solutions CNExT Cancer Registry software is used by Cancer Registrars for meeting mandated cancer reporting as well as analysis of the cancer population at their medical center. Together with our Cancer Alert System, efficiency in identifying and reporting of cancer is realized. We meet HIPAA and security regulations and allow remote access. All C/NET Solutions software can be run in mixed technology environments where the highest standards in database security or remote access are required.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated SaaS Health IT Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development and experience in transitioning legacy software products to modern, cloud-based SaaS solutions. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure SaaS applications.

This position reports directly to the Programmer Analyst Manager at the C/NET Solutions. It is responsible for contributing to planning, design and development of new software products, as well as ongoing development, and maintenance of the C/NET's current products (CNExT, and CAS). The position will play a critical role in analysis, design, programming, debugging, testing and support all infrastructure systems related to the production and sales of all C/NET Solutions' software products. The position must be responsive to staff with limited technology expertise and a diverse range of needs. The incumbent must be capable of working independently or in conjunction with the project work team to research and develop resolutions for larger scale software-related problems.

This is a remote, regular full-time position with a work schedule of 40 hours per week. The incumbent must be able to work during core business hours for the Pacific Time zone and occasionally work more than 40 hours a week and on weekends. Candidates in the United States (all Time Zones) are welcome to apply. This position may require travel two times per year to attend internal meetings in the United States.

Full salary range for this position: $100,661 to $151,630 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $100,661 (minimum) to $126,146 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined using a variety of factors, such as the candidate's knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity consideration and budget availability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Collaborate with architects and stakeholders to design the architecture of new SaaS products, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
  • Evaluate existing legacy systems and identify opportunities for modernization and migration to SaaS platforms.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
  • Implement features and functionalities based on project and user requirements.
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance the functionality of SaaS products.
  • Deploy SaaS applications to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Monitor application performance and address any issues or bugs that arise post-deployment.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for efficient software delivery.
  • Write documentation and instructional materials on new technologies for users, testers, and design proposals.
  • Provide cross-training within the programming staff.
  • Assist staff with customer support issues.
  • Access to Protected Health Information. This job requires access to Protected Health Information. Employees are responsible for reading, acknowledging and complying with all C/NET Solutions and Public Health Institute polices pertaining to confidentiality and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of proven experience in software development in Health IT, with a focus on SaaS products.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, communications technology, design and visual communication or other related field; or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of HL7 FHIR and other health data standards
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL and SQLite and experience with database design and optimization.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cancer data.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for SaaS applications.
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).
