The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is the state agency established to promote workforce development and improve workplace safety and health throughout the state.

How you make a difference in this role:

The Administrative Services Assistant 4 is key in assisting with the planning, organization, promotion and successful completion of projects, production and maintenance. This position is responsible for administrative support work and supervision in the Workplace Regulations & Compliance Divisions administrative staff.

Job Overview:

Work to assist with Customer Service Excellence in all program units (Mine Safety, Boilers & Elevators, Amusement Devices, and Labor Standards)

Key Responsibilities:

Work with and supervise administrative staff to execute both formal and informal administrative development activities and events; improve administrative effectiveness across all Units in the Division

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree AND experience equivalent to four years of full-time increasingly responsible professional staff administrative work.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of four years.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in public administration, business administration, or other acceptable field may be substituted for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of two years.

OR

Three years of increasingly responsible professional administrative services experience with the State of Tennessee
