Position Summary

This position will be part of the quality control team and perform quality review of production art and pre-press jobs to ensure products are produced accurately to supplied specifications in a timely manner by performing the following duties. The quality control operator must thrive in a professional, fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects. Work is typically performed under supervision, receiving guidance from senior operators about how the work needs to be completed.

This is a temporary role, onsite in Cincinnati OH.

Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results



  • Inbound Inspection


    • Confirm PO, item codes, and quantities against the packing list and client requirements.
    • Check print quality against approved proof:
    • Color accuracy (match to proof or color standard).
    • Print registration (alignment of colors and elements).
    • Proper cutting and trimming (dimensions and tolerances).
    • Ensure all paperwork is complete and accurate.


  • Outbound Inspection


    • Verify case count, piece count, and SKU accuracy against client QC requirements following ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 for acceptance sampling.
    • Inspect packaging, labeling, and documentation for compliance.
    • Check for damages, shortages, or overages before shipment.
    • Apply 5% variance allowance for shortages or overages per client tolerance guidelines. (NEED JAMIE TO DETERMINE THE ACCEPTABLE VARIANCE)
    • Complete outbound QC checklist mirroring client inbound QC sheet.
    • Document findings and escalate discrepancies promptly.



  • QC Rider Form Review


    • Review all QC Rider forms attached to production orders for 100% compliance.
    • Ensure each Rider form is complete, accurate, and properly signed off.
    • Escalate any inadequate or incomplete Rider forms to the Plant Manager immediately.


  • Collaboration & Reporting


    • Communicate issues to Project Management and Operations teams.
    • Provide detailed notes for next steps when discrepancies occur.
    • Ensure QC documentation is accurate and filed for traceability.



  • Document Control


    • Maintain accurate records of all outbound QC checks, Rider form reviews, and sampling results.
    • Store QC documentation in the designated system or shared repository for easy retrieval and audit.
    • Ensure all QC records are organized by project and available for client review upon request.


  • Process Familiarization


    • Learn and assist with in-process QC (PrePress, Print, Finishing and Collation) as time permits.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality.




Competency Requirements



  • Must be able to work with various software applications commonly used on Mac's and PC's.
  • Basic color management skills and the ability to understand and recognize color match accuracy.
  • Basic understanding of print processes and how each color affects another.
  • Must possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with a commitment to detail and accuracy.



Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements

This position requires the following knowledge and skills:



  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Enjoys focusing on the details, ability to quickly recognize defects
  • Work in a pre-press/printing environment preferred
  • Strong computer skills including ability to learn new software usage quickly.
  • Full comprehension in reading work instructions and business memos.
  • Able to effectively communicate, especially through written instructions and evaluations.
  • Proofreading skills required.
  • Ability to work independently after initial training.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00 USD hourly. Ultimately, in determining pay, we will consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
