JOB SUMMARY

This is an intern level position responsible for supporting the associates and functions within the RCCS (Residential Construction + Collateral Services) department. This person will work with Builder Guidance Lines, Construction Perm loans, Consumer Collateral, and Residential collateral to support the day-to-day tasks, ad hoc projects, and key initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develop an understanding of risk management, consumer collateral, and residential collateral.
  • Develop an understanding of due diligence for consumer and residential construction loans. This entails review of construction contracts, budgets, plans and specs, draw inspections, and more.
  • Familiarity with mechanic's lien statutes in Indiana as well as regulatory implications of mortgage loans.
  • Help maintain department reports.
  • Develop an understanding of appraisals and title work to ensure clean collateral.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Adapt to change in priorities.
  • Multi-task and maintain the appropriate focus and attention to detail.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple deliverables and follow up on items, as necessary.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to take ownership for accuracy of assigned tasks.
  • Competency in various software solutions within the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn and utilize additional Bank-used software solutions such as Built, Covalent, CSI NuPoint, Encompass, Smartsheet, and CenterDoc.
  • Self-starter, motivated, and looking to provide value in all activities.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Ability to learn new information quickly.
  • Ability to ask questions and communicate when assistance is requested.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others (both written and verbally).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to listen and be able to extract pertinent information.
  • Ability to organize and manage projects of various sizes.
  • Deadline-driven with a high degree of professionalism.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College student in relevant field of study.
  • Expressed interest in a risk-related function with a financial institution.
