SCOPE: The EHS Specialist is responsible to assess current facilities and personnel and to convey the assessed information back to facility personnel and management in a concise manner to ensure current and future agency compliance and employee well-being. This is performed by maintaining current knowledge of present and/or proposed OSHA, EPA, DOT, & FDEP regulations; ensuring that all training requirements and record keeping requirements are being met; and by working closely with facility personnel to ensure all Environmental/Safety issues are addressed in a timely and cost effective manner

  • Assistsindeveloping,implementingandupdatingenvironmental/safety/industrialhygieneprograms
  • TrackandmaintainMSDSandchemicaldatatocomplywithagencyexpectations
  • ReportandcomplywithallEPA,FDEPandlocalenvironmentalregulations
  • CoordinateandmeettherequirementsforallDOTregulationsregardingtheshippingofwastestreams
  • Assistsupervisorsandmanagerscompletingincidentinvestigations
  • ProcessproperpaperworkforPPEreimbursement
  • Conductallhearingandrespiratoryfittestsasneeded
  • MakerecommendationsforPPEHazardAssessmentsandPPESelection

  • May be asked to perform within physical requirements including, but not limited to 40 lb. single person lift, kneeling, squatting, and standing for long periods of time. Ability to wear fall protection devices as neeed when working at heights above 4 feet.

  • CertifiedFireProtectionSpecialist,desired
  • PossessionofOSHA501and/or511certificationhighlydesired
  • 3-5years'experienceinEnvironmentalHealthandSafetyinamanufacturingenvironment.

The pay scale for newly hired employees in this position at this location in New York is <<$58,500 - $90,000>>. This is based on meeting all of the requirements of the role. The base pay offered for the role may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We are proud to offer competitive benefits in addition to competitive pay.
