Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Benefits Support Specialist!

About the role

The role focuses on supporting the Implementation and Account Managers in the Implementation of new Employer Group accounts, and the servicing of existing accounts, including Group Life, Disability, Absence Management, and Voluntary Benefits. It also involves managing small legacy accounts (10-99 lives), fostering client relationships and supporting the National Service Team to ensure renewals, retention, and satisfaction.

What you'll do in this role



  • Serve as the primary service contact for an assigned book of business (10-99 lives).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day service tasks, including AOR changes, licensing updates, amendments, and enrollment support. Collaborate across the organization to resolve issues and deliver client solutions.
  • Support National Service and Implementation Teams by preparing administrative and marketing documents, including signatory documents, forms, enrollment materials and plan summaries.
  • Conduct quality reviews of pre-submission PASR records and implementation-related materials, such as contracts, the first bill and Go Portal entries. .
  • Verify agent appointments, submit appointment requests, and process Agent of Record changes for initial case set up and assigned book of business.
  • Conduct initial enrollment census reviews for new clients, providing updates to Implementation Managers as needed; request and review renewal census data for assigned book of business.
  • Oversee the renewal process for assigned accounts.
  • Review audit renewal letters and manage their distribution.
  • Partner with the assigned Regional Sales Executive (RSE) and/or Voluntary Sales Executive (VSE) to negotiate plan design changes and renewal terms with underwriting to address client needs, maximize persistency, and communicate decisions to relevant departments.
  • Document and process contract amendments by collaborating with internal teams to ensure contract language aligns with customer intent.
  • Provide internal support for team members on travel or special customer-related projects.
  • Monitor established tracking tools to maintain accurate, up-to-date activity records. Scrub sold case notifications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate assignment of new sold groups or new lines of coverage to Implementation Managers. Communicate new sales to applicable parties.
  • Assist Account Management, Implementation, and Leadership with departmental improvements, and special projects as needed.

Compensation

Hourly Salary Range: $26.30- $ 43.87 plus eligibility for annual bonus program
