The Bridges and Structures Practice is seeking a Structural Engineer in Portland, OR.

The responsibilities will be diverse and will include providing support on structural planning, design, construction, inspection, and rehabilitation design work for commercial and industrial clients. This position will assist project teams through the completion of various projects and task assignments. In this role you will perform structural design, analyses and structural detailing using IBC and other design codes for different building and facility type structural systems. You will also perform structural design check and review of work completed by other structural design staff.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and creating concept design and layout of facility and building structures
  • Developing and checking of engineering calculations and drawing details
  • Developing and checking of engineering specifications, quantities, and cost estimates
  • Reviewing contractor submittals during construction
  • Performing or assisting with the condition inspection and reporting of existing structures
  • Being a part of client and project development teams
  • Being a part of project proposals
  • Manage and execute building and non-bridge structural planning, design, construction engineering and retrofit projects
  • Pursuit champion and assist project managers in the development of proposal documents
  • Communicating with client's and expressing the client's needs to project team
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 10+ years of structural design experience, including industrial facilities
  • Registered Professional Engineer
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Knowledgeable of IBC and ASCE 7 Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Mathcad, RISA 3d, SAP and REVIT

  • Knowledgeable of ASCE 41
