Position Announcement

The Department of Management and Marketing at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position, emphasis in Professional Sales and Business Development. This position will start Fall Semester (July 1, 2026). The UT Marketing program currently offers a marketing BA/BS major (with four emphases), as well as a minor and marketing certificate. Responsibilities

  • Design and teach 24 credit hours of lower and/or upper division courses per academic year (typically 12 credits per semester), plus provide institutional service as defined by University Policy and the College of Business. Courses could include Sales Management, Intermediate Sales, Advanced Sales, Principles of Marketing and other related areas at both lower and upper division levels as assigned. Instruction methods must align with UT's Strategic Plan, namely active learning, applied/hands-on, and career-ready curriculum.
  • Advise students in Marketing and other required areas.
  • Promote extracurricular experiential learning programs in marketing and sales.
  • Perform defined campus-wide duties, including holding office hours, attendance at department and division meetings, and adhere to college policies.
  • Should be technology literate and/or willing to become certified in online instruction and teach one or more courses online and/or in a blended format.
  • Fulfill scholarship and service requirements of faculty within the tenure track, in compliance with university policy.
  • Engage in scholarly research that contributes to the discipline and supports AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification.
  • Participate in university, college, and departmental service as assigned.

Qualifications

  • PhD or DBA in Sales, Marketing or related field required; those that are ABD will be considered if degree will be completed by August 2026.
  • Strong academic focus on sales preferred, including a research interest in sales.
  • Industry work experience in sales and sales management required.
  • Experience building a sales program at the college level preferred.
  • Experience bringing students to sales competitions preferred.
  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) in teaching or applied sales contexts to demonstrate data-driven sales practices preferred.
  • Ability to develop innovative curriculum, appropriate course content, and teach under a variety of teaching situations.
  • Demonstrated ability of successfully teaching college sales courses (finalists will be required to demonstrate competence in a teaching demonstration during the interview process).
  • Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, and colleagues, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well with students and other faculty members and contribute to a "team" concept.

Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service begins August 2026, with pay and benefits starting July 1, 2025. Annual salary of $100,000-$105,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
