Senior Robotics and Tooling Maintenance Technician

Our client is a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier operating within a production environnement. They prides themselves on providing high-quality services to the automotive, energy and manufacturing industries. They are seeking a Senior resource responsible for the general maintenance and operations of all robotic applications and DC tooling of the Toledo, OH Facility. See below a list of key responsibilities:
  1. Ensure that all robotic applications and tools are in good working order to meet daily production objectives.
  2. Provide necessary on-site support for robotic applications and tooling when inoperable.
  3. Work with established third-party suppliers for support as necessary (repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance). Initiate, quote and schedule contracted services for repairs or maintenance.
  4. Track all unique and/or first-time issues to include corrective action.
  5. Manage an itemized reporting process to include fault details, corrective actions and outcome. Results to assist route cause and solution.
  6. Train employees designated by management supporting all applicable shift(s) to trouble shoot reoccurring issues, capable of a reset/homing a robot(s) in pendent mode if necessary. Manage employee training matrix as required
  7. Develop, document and manage an annual maintenance schedule for all robotic systems.
  8. Present annual maintenance requirements, all upgrades and repairs for approval to Plant Manager.
  9. Manage a predetermined list of parts to stock or are required for regular maintenance.
  10. Coordinate quoting and implementation of new tooling needs. All quotes to include: part/tool/carts/5S cost, quantity required, cost for associated socket trays or machine pucks, labor to set up tools, carts and associated AVTS coding, any infrastructure improvements to support implementation (electrical, plumbing, etc.). All applicable services and/or purchases must be reported timely for invoicing to Customer.
  11. Project set up and training for new applications until all equipment meets operational objectives.
  12. Track ALL tooling serial numbers and assign customer asset number and tag as required. Any tool assigned to support production must be properly labeled with asset info, department etc. Asset disposition/end of life process followed.
  13. Attend and report weekly in the Tuesday production meeting of outstanding issues, or project progress as necessary.
  14. Accountable for any time sensitive information detailed in communication via Text or Email. A timely response is required if not able to support any request, allowing the team to make other arrangements.
  15. After Hours Support: Support all text, phone calls and email related to after-hour production needs for robotic/tooling shutdowns. Track and report After Hours' time as required. Submit any time each Monday morning to Plant Manager for approval/review.

Years of Experience: 4-6+ years of work experience
Top Skills:
  • Robotics maintenance and tooling experience (we utilizes Fanuc America robotics)
  • Willingness to train, learn, and grow within a maintenance role
  • Experience working in a production environment
  • Metric/reporting/scheduling documentation

Secondary (Nice to Have) Skills:
  • Third-party supplier management
  • Team training experience

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
