Shipping Clerk

Key Responsibilities

The role is 90% desk job and involves managing and coordinating all of our shipments. Calling the brokers, arranging freight, sending tracking information on every order, negotiating with our freight vendors. They must understand the freight business and the "lingo". The candidate must have this experience, we do not want to train someone who is a newbie to freight.

• Prepare, package, and stage outgoing shipments of company's related products
• Verify product accuracy against packing lists, work orders, and customer specifications
• Create, review, and process shipping documentation including bills of lading, freight paperwork, carrier labels, and customs forms (as needed)
• Coordinate daily pickups with freight carriers, parcel shipment services, and logistics partners
• Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, completeness, and cargo safety compliance. Enter and update shipping data in internal tracking systems and ERP software
• Assist with receiving duties by checking-in inbound deliveries, verifying counts, and updating inventory
• Maintain a safe and organized shipping area, ensuring compliance with company's safety guidelines
• Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, scanners) safely - training available
• Communicate shipment statuses clearly with supervisors, customer service, and the operations team

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Understanding of LTL, FTL, international shipment documentation and incoterms
• 1-2 years of shipping, warehouse, or logistics experience
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and shipping platforms (UPS, FedEx, freight portals)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to accuracy
• Positive attitude and willingness to support team-based operations
• Previous experience in manufacturing or distribution environments
