JOB FAMILY TITLE: Technician

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

PAY RANGE:

The base pay for this Job Family generally ranges between $26 - $35/hr. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.

Position Summary:

Operate CNC machining centers to create or repair tooling for production machinery.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)




  • Set up blocks and plates for machining; edit programs on the CNC machining centers.
  • Review CNC programs, tool prints, and steel for errors and develop a course of action to correct any problems.
  • Assess the best method of cutting the steel to produce the needed accuracies.
  • Maintain quality of parts through inspection and communication with fellow teammates
  • Work with the tool designers, programmers, and tool assemblers to produce the necessary components.
  • Perform basic maintenance on CNC machining centers.
  • Work with Die Repair team and Tool Engineering to assist with any revisions of existing tools.
  • Identify process and equipment problems and suggest improvements.



Qualifications - Required Skills:




  • Safety first mindset.
  • Knowledge and understanding of stamping dies, die construction, and component manufacture.
  • Ability to read and interpret tool prints.
  • Knowledge and experience at running CNC machining centers for the construction of die component.
  • Independent worker with ability to prioritize tasks based on business needs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with coworkers.
  • Advanced math skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Physical requirements to include but not limited to:

    • Ability to lift up to 60lbs frequently.
    • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.
    • Manual dexterity.
    • Stoop, bend, and kneel.





Desirable Educational / Work Experience:




  • CNC Machinist certification from the Technology and Manufacturing Association (TMA).
  • 5+ years experience machining stamping dies.
