Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Adhere to all Safety rules, policies, and Safety Cardinal Rules.
  • Operate all types of tools essential and necessary to the job, including but not limited to brake test machine, light tester, man lift, bumper jack, ABS tester, torque wrenches, tape measure, etc.
  • Performs quality inspection on dry vans prior to unit move to dispatch staging area, in compliance with applicable Customer Pre-Delivery Inspection process.
  • Executes inspections to established quality standards, identify non-compliant quality issues, and support in investigations and solutions as needed.
  • Follow and complete all required documents and file as appropriate.
  • Create appropriate nonconformity records in ERP system as applicable.
  • Notify the Quality Group Lead or Supervisor when nonconformities are identified, or additional support is needed.
  • Maintain quality reporting and data trend information as required.
  • Maintain communications with yard drivers, dispatch operators, MOD personnel, and Quality as appropriate.
  • Able to learn Quality End of Line process and fill in as needed.
  • Follow team practices, good housekeeping, organizational and visual improvements, and perform regular 5S activities on an on-going basis.
  • Support any training of new and transferred employees on role as requested.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to company policy
  • Attend scheduled work hours on a regular and timely basis. Maintain good attendance. Work mandatory overtime as scheduled.
  • Follow company policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the company
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications



  • Education: High school diploma general education degree (GED) minimum.


  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Minimum one-year experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
    • Effective English oral and written communication skills.
    • Basic use of computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
    • Ability to deal with difficult situations and use resources available to solve problems accordingly.
    • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interface with people at all levels in numerous functions.
    • Communicate respectfully and with proper etiquette through all mediums including physical, email, phone, and radio.
    • Must be able to maintain a high activity level.
    • Multi-tasking: ability to complete more than one task at a time.
    • Dependable accuracy, organization, and efficiency in work.
    • Must be fluent in English.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs occasionally.
    • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.

    • Utility/Golf Cart
    • Aerial Lifts - Genie/Wave/Manlifts
    • Trailer Caddy
    • Alignment (to understand process)
    • Brake setting (to understand process)
    • Required Torque specifications for Critical Road Safety items.
