Description

Primary and Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Assists Quality team in inspection activities to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by engineering drawings, quality specifications/quality plans, and customer requirements
  • Identifies nonconforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly
  • Creates documentation to standardize inspection methods and processes within the QMS (Quality Management System)
  • Assists in managing the quality database including data entry and data analysis
  • Reports on quality-related data at defined intervals
  • Performs material movement transactions after completion of inspection process
  • Recognizes and takes action to correct apparent discrepancies in specifications and procedures
  • Reads, understands and interprets engineering drawings
  • Completes tasking related to calibration management including coordinating instrument calibration, reviewing and uploading calibration records, and auditing the calibration process
  • Obtains quotes for externally calibrated equipment
  • Enters Purchase Requisitions for external calibrations
  • Performs calibration on in-house designs instruments or systems
  • Enters internal and external calibration data within calibration tracking software
  • Uses the Calibration database to record test data, generate certificates and track product calibration history.
  • Maintains familiarity with current and new products as well as all calibration lab standards and test equipment.
  • Performs inspection of customer and government furnished equipment
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports production projects and performs other duties as assigned




    Secondary Duties and Responsibilities




    • May participate in lean/six sigma/quality/safety initiatives/internal audits as required




    Supervisory Responsibilities




    • Does not supervise others




    Years of Experience




    • 0-2 years field related experience and/or training




    Level of Education




    • High School diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

      Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities




      • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
      • Requires ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wiring schematics
      • Experience in the use of inspection equipment including but not limited to calipers, micrometers and height gages a plus
      • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
      • Knowledge of manufacturing, ISO 9001 Quality Management System a plus
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.
      • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines
      • Experience in ERP systems, SAP desired
      • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels within the company
      • Goal-oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner

      • Work is accomplished in a moderately clean plant environment
      • The sound level in the work environment may fluctuate due to noises associated with manufacturing process




      Physical Demands

      • Performs all work in accordance with safety and workmanship and good housekeeping specifications
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee alternates between sitting and standing/walking for long periods of time
      • This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies up to 50 pounds
      • Ability to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required per plant rules




      Training
