Join Our Team as a Tool Design Engineer Intern!

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tool Design Engineer Intern to join our manufacturing engineering team. This internship offers hands-on experience in the design, development, and improvement of tools, fixtures, and gauges used in the manufacturing process. The intern will work closely with experienced engineers and production teams to support ongoing projects and contribute to process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Assist in the design and modeling of tools, jigs, and fixtures using CAD software (e.g., Solidedge, AutoCAD,).
  • Support the modification and improvement of existing tooling to enhance performance, safety, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams to understand tooling requirements and resolve production issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and root cause analysis for tooling-related problems.
  • Help create and maintain technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
  • Conduct time studies, tolerance analysis, and basic stress calculations under supervision.
  • Assist in prototyping and testing of new tool designs.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.


Qualifications:



  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (Solidedge preferred).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, stamping, injection molding, or assembly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Skills (Not Required):



  • Exposure to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
