Department Summary The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is located in the prestigious Cultural District of Fort Worth, TX. Our mission is to offer exceptional educational activities and to advance research in the anatomical sciences and allied fields. Research strengths in the Center for Anatomical Sciences include biological anthropology, evolutionary biology, forensic sciences, biomechanics/functional morphology, and histology. The Center encompasses 8,000-square-feet of anatomy laboratories that support anatomical education, research, and outreach. The Center also houses dedicated research laboratories equipped for medical imaging analysis/morphometrics, forensic anthropology, thermoregulatory studies (environmental chamber), histology, and paleontological fossil preparation. Center for Anatomical Sciences teaches dissection and prosection-based anatomy courses to Medical, Physical Therapy, Physician's Assistant, and Master of Medical Science students. The Center is also home to the Structural Anatomy and Rehabilitation Sciences (STARS) PhD program that prepares graduate students to join the workforce as researchers and anatomy educators. The Center also supports numerous K-12 science outreach programs, offering summer science camps, campus tours, and in-school events that introduce students to anatomy and its relationship to medical education. Position Overvie Multiple Positions Available The Center for Anatomical Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire Hourly Decedent Care Drivers to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: Assist Donated Body Program Staff with making removals and transport of donor from the place of death to UNTHSC. Assist with coordinating set up of labs and courses at UNTHSC. Will work on the completion of donation paperwork with NOK. Completion of paperwork with donor families. Will assist with general up keep of the labs. Will assist with setting up and breaking down in house courses. Will assist with transporting specimens to local outside crematory. Minimum Qualifications Valid TX Drivers License with clean driving record 18 years of age or older Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to lift 100+ pounds as needed. Knowledge of Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Job Duties Assist Donated Body Program Staff with making removals and transport of donor from place of death to UNT Health Science Center Fort Worth. Assist with coordinating set up & breakdown of labs and course held at UNT Health Science Center Fort Worth and general cleaning straightening of lab space. Transporting of donors local outside crematory vendor. Delivery of donor cremated remains to donor designee. Completion of paperwork with NOK and/or donor families. Physical Requirements Communicating with others to exchange information. Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds or more. Moving self in various positions to perform tasks in tight and confined spaces. Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Repetitive motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Environmental Hazards Exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Low temperatures. Noisy environments.
