Who You Are... As Accountant - Shared Services, you are responsible for supporting business operations by performing core accounting and project financial activities that ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with internal controls and the Limbach Way. This role focuses on project accounting, billing oversight, and cash collections while partnering closely with project management teams, other departments in Shared Services, and regional finance team members. This Position... Some examples of the work you might do includes:
- Reviews and processes documentation for new project setups, change orders, cost projections, estimate or phase code adjustments, work orders, or agreements ensuring accuracy and completeness with established accounting practices and procedures.
- Maintains and updates project commitments and job cost data: process job cost adjustments and support project close-out activities as directed by project teams and accounting leadership.
- Prepares, files, and maintains project related documentation, such as preliminary notices, lien releases, and Certificates of Insurance, ensuring records are complete and up to date.
- Generates, analyzes, and distributes customer billings for quoted or time and material work orders and smaller projects, ensuring accuracy, contract compliance, and timely invoicing.
- Supports collections for smaller projects, document collection activity, and partners with AR Specialists, regional finance teams, and branch operations to resolve discrepancies.
- Partners with Accounts Receivable and Purchasing Specialists to resolve billing, cash application, invoice, or cost discrepancies impacting project financials.
- Assists with audit requests and ensures adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other accounting duties as assigned to support departmental objectives and evolving business needs.
What You Need...
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, OR 2+ years of relevant, job-related experience in a service or construction industry (without a degree).
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word in particular)
- Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess strong analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate (both written and verbally) with diverse audiences.
- Capacity to produce results when working both independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Viewpoint accounting software.

Work Environment:
- This position operates in a professional office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, printers, and scanners.
