Boring Mill Machinist

Staffmark is hiring a skilled Boring Mill Machinist in Dayton, OH! If you're an experienced machinist looking to join a reliable, growth-focused team, this could be the perfect fit for you.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00/hr (based on experience)

Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday - Friday | 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM | Some Saturdays as needed.

As a Boring Mill Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating CNC horizontal or vertical boring mills to produce large or precision metal parts. You'll follow blueprints and specifications to ensure parts meet strict tolerances, while upholding safety and quality standards throughout the process.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC horizontal boring mills
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions
• Choose appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for each operation
• Secure workpieces using clamps, vises, or fixtures
• Monitor operations and make adjustments to maintain accuracy and tolerances
• Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication
• Troubleshoot basic machine or setup issues
• Maintain accurate documentation, including production logs and inspection records
• Follow all safety protocols and keep a clean, organized work area

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3 years' experience operating large-scale boring mills or similar machine tools
• Strong understanding of machining principles and metal properties
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficient with precision measurement tools
• Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods
• Experience with CNC controls preferred
