Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring a Team/Project Lead to join our dynamic Energy Utilities practice. This position reports to the Utilities Engineering Services Leader and is responsible for leading our outstanding Energy Design team. The Energy Team/Project Lead will be a strong communicator and collaborator capable of leading technical staff and working with project management staff in our Utility Market. Ideal candidates will have managerial and technical problem-solving skills to meet the team's challenges, which include working with other team leaders to balance engineering staff workload while also acting as a project lead.

What You Will Do:




  • Support project managers to develop engineering design, drive execution of deliverables, and provide client support.


  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce engineering plans and exhibits.


  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure projectobjectives(scope, schedule, budget, deliverables) are metin accordance withestablished metrics.


  • Provide technicalexpertisein site/civil design, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation control, slope stability, and stormwater management. Mentor and coachless experienced staff in these activities.


  • Support permitting with County and local municipalities.Experience with local municipalities is a plus.


  • Work closely withprojectmanagement team toidentify challenges anddevelop and implement solutions.


  • Drive establishment ofemployee goals, provide regular feedback,and workwith technical team members to achieveperformance and career developmentgoals.


  • Supportindividual andoverallteam healthbyinitiatingand facilitatingregularcommunication.


  • Review time sheets, ensuring accuracy withProject Leads.


  • CoordinatewithProject Managers/Project Leadsto ensureteam resource planningand individual workloadsarebalanced.


  • Ensurejob requisitionsare posted,review resumes, coordinateinterviews, and hiretechnical team members.



What You Will Bring:




  • Aminimum of5+yearssite/civil designexperiencerequired;10+ years preferred.


  • Strong preference for candidateslocatedin the state of Ohio withabilitytoregularly visit the Columbus office (Easton area).


  • Proven experience with codes and regulations, creating engineering plans, designing storm water facilities, site grading, and local and state permitting.


  • Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater management calculations.Experience withHydroCAD,Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, Bluebeam, ArcGIS, Microsoft Suite, and other relevant softwarea plus.


  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for, organize, and manage project tasks. Experience with delegating work, writing proposals, or project budgetingarea plus.


  • Ability to provide excellent client service ina timelyand professional manner.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical skillsto successfully manage multiple, competing priorities.


  • Ability and willingness totake initiative andwork collaboratively in a team environment;this position championsmentoring and professional development.


  • Desire for personal leadership development.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
