PRODUCT TECHNICIAN

POSITION PURPOSE:

Conduct specialized technical work with emphasis in supporting a KCNA AFC R&E Team

KEY CUSTOMERS:

Research & Engineering (R&E), Prototypers, Product Developers

CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS:

1) Carry out all work ensuring effective Safety and Quality attitudes and practices.

2) Manage self in accordance with the expected behaviors of the Leadership Qualities. Effectively achieve results that meet business and individual objectives.

3) Take appropriate action based on problem solutions.

4) Assist in training less experienced personnel.

5) Accurately record results and observations and report appropriately.

SCOPE:

Incumbent receives direction from a AFC R&E Product Developer. Assists on technical programs contributing to product design, development, and execution. Performs moderately complex tasks under the direction of an experienced scientist. Key accountabilities include but are not limited to support of projects and initiatives through bench testing (standard and custom requests, execution, summaries), coordination of hand-making products and visuals, shipping requests, storage, prototype and sample management, and documenting PPS instructions. May include data entry and analysis, requests for product safety clearance, experimental product/material trials, product patterns.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Typically required, as a minimum, is a Bachelor's degree (broad range of disciplines), or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Desired skills include a working knowledge of laboratory techniques and/or equipment/machinery operations plus application of scientific methods.

  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and facilitate different perspectives to drive solutions.

    Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of and experience in disposable and reusable consumer products.
  • Knowledge of and experience in bench/consumer testing, hand making, and sewing
  • Knowledge of complex data analysis and report writing as well as making recommendations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software including MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to learn new software / systems related to product development and engineering (e.g., image software, drawing software, KC systems, PowerBI).
