Your Opportunity: Taylor Print and Visual Impressions, a Taylor company, is seeking a Material Handler to join the team in Las Vegas, NV. This individual will be responsible for transporting company materials inside the plant, which may include the preparation of materials for out-going shipment and from receiving, recording and storing all stocks and supplies, pulling and delivering materials to various departments, returning unused inventory and maintaining records.
Your Responsibilities:
- Load and unload trucks, freight cars, conveyors and other types of transporting equipment, by hand or with the aid of materials handling devices
- Coordinate and/or transport equipment, supplies, products and materials to and from one location, department or workstation to another, using motor vehicles, hand trucks, tote boxes and other materials handling equipment
- Count, weigh and identify items and ensure they are appropriately stored, marked or tagged for identification purposes and fill orders or requisitions for materials and keep records of items issued and received
- Ensure that materials are checked against vendors' invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar papers
- Operate standard or specially designed machines to place or arrange products in cartons, bottles, boxes and other types of containers and the operation of labeling, weighing and sealing machines
- Pick, wrap and pack products in boxes, cartons and other containers prior to final packing for shipment. Ensures that materials are checked against customers' invoices, bills of lading, customer orders and similar papers
- Maintain records of damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities and weights and records time, date, quantity, source and destination of materials received or shipped
- Operate all equipment such as a pallet jack, forklift and pallet wrapper
- Verify and process mail and incoming and outgoing materials
- Move materials around the plant
- Be reliable and comply with company procedures
- Follow safety and quality procedures
Your Shift:
- Primary work schedule is Monday - Friday, 6:00AM - 2:30PM
- Occasional night/weekend work may be required based on emergent or critical business needs.
You Must Have:
- 1+ years related experience
- The minimum related language skills required for this position are the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, job tickets and procedure manuals; interpret numerical data.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ability to use basic handheld tools, such as knifes/blades to open boxes.
- Ability to proficiently operate lifting devices, fork trucks and safety devices.
- Successful completion of in-house forklifts certification training.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Requirements Within This Position:
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas so others will understand
- Regularly required to remain in a stationary position
- Constantly operates machinery and handles products including print materials
- Frequently required to move inside the facility
- Regularly move up to 25+ pounds (lift, push, pull and/or carry)
