Vizient Intern Program Overview:

This program is designed to foster a beneficial relationship and provide growth opportunities for Vizient, our employees, and collegiate students. Since 2000, our summer intern program has provided college undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students with practical experience that exposes them to multiple aspects of a career field and the healthcare industry. This full-time, paid intern program offers an opportunity to accelerate academic learning, apply classroom knowledge, and introduce students to a professional setting. Interns are assigned a supervisor to mentor/develop their business skills, as well as monitor their work experiences. Interns are integral members of the company's team, setting goals, working toward deadlines, and actively participating in community service projects.

The program requires the intern to commit to 10 weeks of participation in all formal training, mentoring, on-the-job learning, and opportunities to interact with senior leaders.

  • Program starts June 1, 2026, and ends August 7, 2026
  • 40 hours per week with a pay rate of $24 per hour.

  • Exposure to senior leadership to discuss the project, strategy, and milestones.
  • Network opportunities with cross-functional teams to learn about various areas within the organization.

  • Value-added project management skills.
  • Intern-led community impact project and various team-building activities outside of work.

What you will do:

We are seeking an undergraduate or graduate-level intern to join the Research Analytics and Insights (RAIN) team. This internship offers comprehensive training and hands-on experience in healthcare data analytics using the Vizient Clinical Data Base (CDB). The intern will gain valuable exposure to trend analysis, quality outcomes measurement, and custom analytics development while supporting both internal research initiatives and member requests. Maintain and update internal SharePoint content, including the VizTech Knowledge Hub and other team pages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive training on the Vizient CDB online tool and develop proficiency in using its front-end interface for data analytics.
  • Support research analytics projects by creating custom analyses to address member needs and RAIN team priorities.
  • Conduct background research, identify relevant datasets, and extract meaningful data for analysis.
  • Perform in-depth data analysis and interpret results to generate actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with the RAIN team to present findings in a clear and impactful manner.
  • Undertake an independent research project in an area of interest, applying analytical skills to explore relevant healthcare or quality outcome questions.

What you will need:

  • Must have completed an undergraduate degree and be in pursuit of a master's degree before the start of the internship.
  • Basic understanding of working in a hybrid environment, workplace ethics, and effective communication.
  • Good organization and planning skills, and demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation, and implementation based on past work or school experiences.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to analyze and synthesize information for problem-solving are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting across the team and potentially with internal Vizient business partners, external members, and suppliers.
