Manager Global Security Operations Center


The Manager Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) manages one national department in Corporate Security as it relates to safety and controls of Comerica assets for Global Security Operations. This is a three-shift, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year operation.
This position is responsible for managing a team of analysts and operators to monitor alarms for all Banking Centers and ATM's, owned and leased facilities, executive suites in all markets, and assessment of real time threats and alerts near our assets. This position is also responsible for monitoring global events and communicating operational and security related concerns in real-time to leadership.


Position Responsibilities:
GSOC Department Management


  • Provide management, administration, and emergency support to the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) at the Comerica Great Lakes Campus.
  • On call and available to respond 24/7 within Southeast Michigan market.
  • Provide emergency support to the Card Access Processing (CAP) Office.
  • Provide training/coaching on employee performance issues as well as conduct interviews and hire candidates.
  • Hold monthly and/or quarterly meetings with GSOC Leadership.
  • Partner with Cyber Defense Operations team when physical security issues overlap with Cybersecurity.
  • Share sensitive information with the Cybersecurity on an as needed basis.


Technical Responsibilities


  • Maintain a working knowledge of all software utilized in 3 Corporate Security environments (Physical, Technical, Executive Protection) as well as the support model for each.
  • Perform advanced programming on Comerica Bank Security software applications both in the GSOC and CAP Office.
  • Understand and troubleshoot security equipment being deployed at Banking Center and campus locations.
  • Provide overview to Corporate Security Leadership of analytic and intelligence products and information dissemination related to real time threat or alarm alerts that may impact the Bank.


Administrative Responsibilities


  • Work as a liaison officer on all campus security issues with Comerica and vendor management.
  • Propose, amend and create procedures for the department.
  • Work with Auditing, Risk, Compliance, and Tech Assurances with regards to security controls in various restricted departments.
  • Provide 24/7 support for application issues, incidents, upgrades, etc.
  • Champion GSOC responsibilities throughout the Bank to ensure employees have awareness of department proficiencies.

  • Manage and develop team cultivating a spirit of one team with shared goals and objectives.
  • Select, motivate and retain high performing talent.
  • Provide on-going feedback to maximize overall performance.

Position Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited univeristy in Criminal Justice, or a related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree a High School Diploma or GED with 6 years of related experience, for example managing/working in a Corporate Security Counsel,
  • 5 years of experience in Security Equipment and/or experience in Security Services environment
  • 4 years of experience in managing or influencing others to achieve desired results; direct team management preferred
  • 3 years of experience in technical application knowledge such as: Intrusion alarm, CCTV, and Access Control programming abilities


Licenses/Certifications:


  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
