About the Opportunity: We're looking for a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our skilled and collaborative team. This role will have three key aspects consisting of ERP management (Enterprise Resource Planning), quoting, and manufacturing process support, which includes areas such as Part Marking, Deburr, Welding, CNC Turning and EDM operations. You'll assist the Manufacturing Engineers, Quality Engineers, Planners, Machinists and Inspectors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manufacturing Engineering: Able to determine a sequence of operations for NPI parts, support/improve flow for existing products, create and update routings, operation sketches, PFMEAs, perform capacity analysis, evaluate process capabilities and perform basic troubleshooting CNC processes
- ERP Management: Update, maintain and create routings, BOMs, and work centers in a new ERP software
- Develop Tooling, Fixturing, and Design processes
- Technical Support: Provide shop floor support by collaborating with them to identify new mistake proofing standards to meet quality and production targets.
- Process Optimization: Review and improve existing processes for efficiency and quality.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of CNC manuscripts, models, operation sketches, routings, fixturing models/sketches, and tooling models/sketches for traceability. Backup function may include updating Manufacturing Routings.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety procedures and consider ergonomics when designing fixturing, processes, and tooling.
- Quality Compliances: Assist with audits, audit actions, updating procedures, and correcting issues that are found on the shop floor.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas for productivity enhancements and participate in Kaizen workshop initiatives.
- Training Support: Assist in training initiatives to develop team skills.
- Problem Solving: Address manufacturing and quality issues using industry standard tools such as root cause analysis, fish bone (Ishikawa), and DIVEs.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) at an ABET accredited school, or in absence of a degree, 2 years of relevant experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
- For candidates with a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 1 year in a prior Manufacturing Engineering co-op role is a must.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with reading and interpreting GD&T on blueprints, process specifications, and technical drawings in Aerospace or comparable regulated Industry.
- Exposure to Turning, Milling and or other manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret blueprints and sketches accurately.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Adaptable to changing business needs and skilled in problem-solving.
