Position Description Summary:
The Department of Computer Science at The George Washington (GW) University in Washington, DC, invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Computer Science to start as early as Fall 2026. We welcome applications from all areas of computer science; we particularly welcome those who can add to and bridge our growing strengths in security/systems and AI/ML.
New faculty will join a vibrant department with a diverse faculty, housed in a building that fosters interdisciplinary efforts across multiple fields. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Faculty hired into this position will be expected to build a substantial research program, mentor graduate students in research, and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Minimum Qualifications:
By the date of appointment, applicants for the Assistant Professor of Computer Science position must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. They must also have demonstrated experience or potential for building a nationally recognized research program, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students in research, and teaching across multiple topics in our undergraduate and graduate Computer Science curriculum.
Advertised Salary: $120,000 - $170,000
