The Commercial Aircraft Electronics Group is looking for an Electronics Development Engineer to be responsible for the development and sustainment of Flight Control Computers (FCCs), Actuator Control Units (ACUs), and Motor Control Electronics (MCEs) for primary and secondary control systems for commercial aircraft.

As a Development Engineer, you will...

  • Work with other team members in the development of electronics for aerospace applications
  • Engage in various trade studies to provide the best option for the product and in compliance of milestone reviews
  • Engage in component selection, circuit design and optimization of electronic circuits
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the analysis and reliability optimization of circuits
  • Employ tolerance stack-up methodologies to ensure compliant designs under all environmental scenarios
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed schematics and simulation models for electrical designs
  • Be a contributor to design proposal teams, preparing designs, estimating costs, and writing technical volumes
  • Aid in requirement generation as necessary
  • Work with drafting to prepare applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of printed wiring boards
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports
  • Perform prototype hardware testing to ensure compliance to specifications and industry standards
  • Operate effectively as a key member of a diverse worldwide and multi-disciplinary team
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical reputation
  • Support multiple designs and programs concurrently in a fast-paced environment

At a minimum, a person in this role will typically require:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 1 years of experience (or entry level with MSEE) in electrical design and analysis

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Experience with circuit modelling and simulation
  • Experience with schematic capture and printed circuit board layout (Allegro Capture CIS, PCB Editor preferred)
  • Familiarity with analog and mixed signal circuit design
  • Familiarity with design and test for commercial aircraft environments (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, power quality, etc.)
  • Familiarity with tolerance stack-up analysis and sensitivity analysis
  • Familiarity with requirement flow down, actuator sensor interfaces, commercial and military standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810, and RTCA/DO-254 standards)

This role may require access to US export-controlled information. You will need to demonstrate you are a US Citizen or a US lawful permanent resident. An ability to obtain a security clearance is required.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $80,000.00-$105,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
