Position Purpose







This position acts as a crucial intermediary to improve patient care and streamline communication within the healthcare system on patient medication and assistance. Their responsibilities include customer service, benefit investigation, managing prior authorizations, helping with financial assistance, and closing gaps in workflow to improve patient adherence. This role will also work directly with other Pharmacy staff in clinics, Specialty Pharmacy and Outpatient Pharmacy. Duties are performed across multiple clinics and assisting in-clinic Pharmacy Liaisons with their workflow. This includes prescription rider set-ups, prior authorizations and letters to members and providers. Works as liaison with leadership on assigned formulary issues, procedural management issues (formulary) and clerical management.

In outpatient pharmacy settings, this position is responsible for coordinating patient facing and internal pharmacy workflows to facilitate prior authorizations and financial assistance for pharmacy medications. Works as liaison with providers, patients, office staff, and pharmacy staff to improve patient experience around medications.

This position does not provide patient care.











Nature and Scope







This role serves as a key intermediary to enhance patient care and streamline communication about medications. Responsibilities include customer service, medication education, managing prior authorizations, assisting with financial aid, and improving pharmacy workflows. The position supports multiple clinics, coordinates with pharmacy staff, and manages prescription setups, prior authorizations, and formulary issues. In outpatient settings, it facilitates prior authorizations and financial assistance, collaborating closely with providers, patients, and staff to improve the medication experience.

Overtime, flexible hours, and weekend shifts may be required intermittently to support work volumes. Duties for this position may be performed remotely depending on the needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Description



Education:



Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.



Experience:



3-5 years' experience in a managed care organization or equivalent with pharmacy/managed care background.



License(s):



Current and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in the State of Nevada preferred.



Certification(s):



None



Computer / Typing:



Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment. 1+ year of experience with MS Outlook, Excel, & Word including basic function; email/calendar, moving through and understanding excel documents, knowing tabs, saving/editing documents
