Overview
Performs unarmed, uniformed security related services which include but are not limited to; Conducts rounds, secures the facility and the work environment for Mercyhealth partners. Responds to all security calls for assistance. May be required to be on call, work flexible hours, alternate shifts, and weekends. Perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required Security experience preferred. Bilingual skills are preferred CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE Illinois residents are required to possess a valid FOID (Firearms Owners Identification Card) card/ or be eligible to obtain one for employment. With the exception of House of Mercy, officers will complete department specific training (Level 3 TACT training, handcuffing, OC spray, ASP baton, and physical control tactics training, etc.) required within 12 months of hire. Must maintain this proficiency on an annual basis. If working at House of Mercy location, TACT level 3 is required. Maintain a valid driver's license and proof of valid vehicle insurance. Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy. Those assigned to House of Mercy must have a reliable source of transportation. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver's License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Officers required to work in the dispatch center must be able to type 25 wpm. SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS The Special Physical Demands are considered Essential Job Functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/move over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, distinguish color and ability to adjust focus.
