Overview

VTG is seeking a Business and Economics Analyst to provide analytical and strategic support to the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, and Acquisition (ASN (RDA)). The analyst will contribute to Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DON) programs involving Foreign Investment Risk Review (FIRRMA), Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) activities, outbound investment reviews, and non-notified transaction assessments. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in finance, policy, or intelligence analysis and possess the ability to deliver high-quality written and verbal products for senior Navy and DoD leadership.This position is 100% onsite in Arlington, VA.


What will you do?

  • Support ASN (RDA) efforts related to foreign investment risk, CFIUS casework, outbound investment, and non-notified reviews.
  • Conduct research and analysis of U.S. and foreign business transactions to assess potential national security risks.
  • Evaluate economic, financial, and business data to support policy development and strategic decision-making.
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to mitigate investment-related risks to Navy and DoD equities.
  • Prepare executive-level reports, briefings, and correspondence for Senior Executive Service (SES), Flag Officers (FO), and General Officers (GO).
  • Collaborate with interagency partners, including DoD, Treasury, and intelligence community stakeholders, to ensure coordinated responses to investment reviews.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess market trends, corporate structures, and ownership patterns that may impact national security.
  • Contribute to the development of policy positions and strategic guidance related to foreign investment and economic security.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging global economic trends and potential implications for U.S. defense industrial base security.

Do you have what it takes?

  • 3-7 years of experience supporting DoD or DON programs, preferably within foreign investment, finance, policy, or intelligence domains.
  • Experience with Foreign Investment Risk (FIR), CFIUS support, outbound investment, and non-notified review processes.
  • Background in finance, business analytics, policy analysis, or intelligence analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at an executive level, both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience working in an Echelon I organization and supporting SES, Flag Officers, or General Officers.
  • Must have an active Secret- eligible for Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
