Senior Talent Acquisition Partner I, Construction

ICON is seeking a Senior Talent Acquisition Partner to lead strategic recruiting efforts across our construction and design-build functions. In this role, you will own the full-cycle recruitment process for positions that span field operations, project management, engineering, and construction leadership. You'll serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and hiring managers, helping to build the teams that are redefining how the world is built. This position is based in Austin, TX, and reports to the Manager of Talent Acquisition and Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for construction and design-build roles across all levels, including field operations, project management, engineering, manufacturing, and construction leadership.
  • Act as a strategic partner to hiring managers and executives, consulting on workforce planning, talent strategy, and market insights to inform hiring decisions.
  • Develop and execute targeted sourcing strategies to attract best-in-class talent from construction, industrialized building, infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Screen, assess, and interview candidates with a deep understanding of construction competencies, safety standards, and project delivery methods.
  • Ensure a best-in-class candidate experience, maintaining clear, timely, and transparent communication throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with People Operations and Compensation teams to negotiate offers and close top candidates, ensuring alignment with compensation philosophy and organizational goals.
  • Support onboarding and field mobilization in partnership with HR and Operations, ensuring seamless integration into project teams.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant data in the ATS (Greenhouse), providing metrics, dashboards, and insights that help drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the broader Talent Acquisition and People teams on strategic initiatives such as employer branding, process optimization, and recruiting technology enhancements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for construction recruiting, offering coaching and guidance to hiring teams across ICON's design-build operations.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS



  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 3 years recruiting within construction, field operations, or design-build environments.
  • Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple searches across a wide range of roles and functions.
  • Deep understanding of construction project lifecycles, trade disciplines, and workforce dynamics.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience building strong partnerships with leaders and influencing hiring outcomes through data and insight.
  • Proficiency with ATS systems (preferably Greenhouse) and tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, Google Workspace, and Slack.
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.



PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE



  • Experience recruiting for self-perform construction, large-scale infrastructure, or industrialized construction projects.
  • Familiarity with design-build and integrated project delivery models.
  • Understanding of construction labor markets, trade recruiting, and workforce development.
  • Data-driven approach to measuring recruiting effectiveness and optimizing funnel performance.
  • Prior experience in high-growth or innovation-driven environments, ideally within technology or advanced manufacturing sectors.
