Prepares and delivers medications to patients and/or nursing units under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner. Online classroom training through Pharmacy Technician University. (Must pass Reading Comprehension and Math Pre-enrollment Assessments in three attempts or less. A minimum score of 70% is required for each assessment prior to acceptance into the program). Experiential training in our state-of-the-art pharmacy, Preparation for passing the national certification exam. Candidates accepting a position will continue in their role as a pharmacy technician after completing the program and achieving their Virginia Registration. Candidates must complete Pharmacy Technician University and achieve registration within 2 years of employment.
The successful incumbent would preferably be available to work the evening shift (12:00pm - 8:30pm), as well as rotating Saturdays. Final shift assignments are made at the discretion and approval of the hiring manager. Physical Demands: Job requires standing for prolonged periods. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. Onboarding Requirements: Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen.
