Staffmark has an exciting direct hire opportunity for a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join a trusted operation maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy wheeled vehicles-including forklifts, excavators, trailers, industrial tractors, and more. This is an ideal role for a seasoned mechanic or workshop foreman who thrives in an autonomous environment and can confidently set priorities while collaborating directly with customers.

Pay Rate: $35+ per hour - Based on experience

Schedule: First Shift Only (Full-time) | Exact schedule details provided during interview

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a range of heavy equipment to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly. You'll diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems, interpret blueprints and technical manuals, and use maintenance management systems to document your work. Managing your assigned fleet independently, you'll schedule service, coordinate parts, and ensure all work is tracked accurately. You'll also work closely with both customers and internal teams to set service expectations, communicate repair status, and resolve service tickets efficiently and professionally.

What You'll Bring:



  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic
  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
  • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, diagrams, and blueprints
  • Personal toolbox and a valid driver's license required
  • Proven experience in a lead or foreman role is a major plus
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Clear and professional communicator-able to explain repair needs, timelines, and updates
  • Commitment to safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement
  • Strong team player with a collaborative and positive attitude
