About the Position

The Maricopa County Attorney's Office (MCAO) seeks an experienced IT Consultant with deep expertise in the ServiceNow platform to provide technical consultation, expert guidance, hands-on assistance, and systems-level direction for MCAO's digital workflow, evidence, and case management initiatives.

This position serves as a ServiceNow technical consultant and subject matter expert, responsible for ensuring the platform's reliability, scalability, and alignment with MCAO's operational and justice-system needs. The IT Consultant will provide advice, analysis, and recommendations to IT leadership, County partners, and law enforcement agencies on criminal justice workflows, platform strategy, integrations, and enhancements, ensuring sustainable digital transformation across MCAO and its 40+ partner agencies.

Working closely with the IT Director, Chief Technology Officer, and other technical staff, this role provides expert consulting on complex technical challenges, including the integration of ServiceNow with systems such as Prosecutor by Karpel (PbK), Axon Justice Premier, and other digital evidence and case management systems. The consultant will help establish technical standards, assess emerging technologies, and guide improvements that enhance efficiency and support MCAO's mission of justice and public service.

This position contributes to the design and sustainment of MCAO's Digital Prosecutorial Center of Excellence (DPCE) by ensuring that ServiceNow and related integrations create a secure, scalable foundation for the management of digital evidence, discovery, and case workflows across systems and partner agencies.

We Require

  • Seven years of information technology experience with increasing responsibility

  • Three years providing technical consultation, configuration, or administration of ServiceNow or comparable enterprise platforms

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Experience providing technical consultation and support to internal teams and partner agencies

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test is required

Job Contributions

  • Provide technical consultation and expert guidance on the design, configuration, and optimization of MCAO's ServiceNow platform, ensuring its alignment with MCAO business and criminal justice workflow needs.

  • Advise IT leadership and project teams on integration strategies connecting ServiceNow with key systems related to evidence and case management.

  • Configure and recommend secure, scalable digital workflow solutions supporting the activities of over 15,000 criminal justice professionals, including referral, evidence, and case management.

  • Provide technical consultation on modernization of MCAO's Law Enforcement Portaland related systems using ServiceNow and other supported technologies.

  • Serve as a consultative technical resource to MCAO on ServiceNow operations, cybersecurity best practices, and system performance.

  • Evaluate and apply emerging technology trends to improve platform functionality, security, and user experience; make recommendations on platform direction and future investment priorities.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards, providing knowledge transfer and mentoring to IT staff and partner agencies.

  • Support user adoption and training efforts by assisting in the development of communication materials and demonstrations that explain platform capabilities and benefits.

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of MCAO's Digital Prosecutorial Center of Excellence through consultation on standards, integrations, and best practices for sustainable digital evidence management.

Working Conditions

  • Selected candidates must successfully complete and pass a criminal background check. MCAO is also authorized to test prospective employees for the presence of illegally accessed drugs. Drug testing is conducted once an offer has been extended and before placement.

  • The IT Consultant will maintain an in-person presence during MCAO business hours, from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with up to 16 hours of teleworking permitted per week.

  • The role also requires being accessible virtually 24/7 via Teams, cell phone, and/or email to oversee ITD operations and availability of services alongside the Director of ITD and the ITD Management Team.

  • This job demands meticulous active listening skills, exceptional attention to detail, and seamless management of significant stress. The IT Consultant will regularly exercise substantial executive authority with minimal supervision, navigating high-stress situations, clearing obstacles to critical paths, driving outcomes across the finish-line, and managing problems and outages, both virtually and in-person. Leading with professional excellence and setting clear boundaries will be essential to achieving organizational goals. They will be expected to exemplify a work-life balance that is adaptable and equitable.
